- Entrance Fee: The cost of entering the Binsar Wildlife sanctuary is 40 INR per person. For students, the charge is a little less and tourists from outside India have to pay 100 INR. There is a separate cost for the entrance to any vehicle. You can check the rates when you reach there.

Placed at a height of around 2420 metres, the Binsar Wildlife sanctuary is located on the Kumaon region. The sanctuary is the home to various species of plants and animals. The views from this vast sanctuary are breath-taking. Traveller Tips
- Wearing comfortable shoes and clothes is a complete must. Your entire trip will be utter waste if you are not at ease. Also, make sure that you are carrying a shawl or light cardigan. The temperature is usually low even in the summer months.
- Carry sufficient amount of water. You are sure to need it during the trip.
- Do not litter any area. It destroys the natural beauty of the sanctuary.
- You are not allowed to carry any kind of non-vegetarian food.
- Liquor consumption is strictly prohibited in the sanctuary area.
- The accommodation and staying facilities are very limited. If you want no hassle, pre-book a room in a nearby hotel beforehand.

Guides are available to give you a trip through the sanctuary. The rates are reasonable and they will take you through the forest and even the trekking. Rates depend on the package that you shall choose.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit is during the summer months. The temperature is very pleasant. During the winter season the temperature drops rapidly and the conditions are pretty extreme. Monsoon is a time you must avoid because the trekking gets impossible owing to slippery roads. Thus, taking a trip from March to June is a good idea.
How to Reach
The place is around 90 kilometres from Nainital. You can book a car and enjoy all the way from there. The nearest railway station is Kathgodam. From there you can avail any form of transport. The airport Pantnagar is 157 kilometres away. Reaching the sanctuary is not much of a hassle owing to the various travel agencies.
