Things to Do There

  • The main attraction of this sacred shrine is the Vaikuntha Venkatesh. The name itself suggests that this is the heavenly abode built dedicated to the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The temple is guarded by the priests 24×7. The senior priests take turns to remain at the central zone of this building where the main worship takes place constantly.
  • For the tourists who wish to worship the incarnation of Lord Rangji, the priests chant the holy mantra for the pilgrims who repeat after them as an adherence that is born out of respect to Lord Rangji. After the proceedings, the priests shower the holy water of the sacred Pushkar Lake on the devotees and apply a ’tilak’ on their forehead as a blessing.
  • After offering their prayer to Lord Rangji, the tourists can also visit the temples of the other deities on the same premises especially the eight temples dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi alone.
  • They can sit by the temple stairs and spend some time in introspection if they wish to.
  • After the offering is completed, the devotees can avail of the delicious ‘prashad‘ that is distributed from a counter at a mere starting price of 10 INR.
  • While leaving, they can drop by the donation box to push down a note or a coin into it for the development of the temple.
  • Outside the temple premises, a line of small stalls can be found selling various Rajasthani products such as the colourful bangles, artifacts made of marble, metallic sword and daggers, some traditional garments and many more that the tourists can buy.
